Welford Park Simulated Game Day

Meet in our shoot room for a delicious breakfast of bacon rolls, pastries and tea & coffee before heading out in our gun bus for two drives. Elevenses is served in the field, with a number of fresh canapes with local game ingredients with both alcoholic and none alcoholic beverage options.

After the following drives, a two course lunch is served in the magnificent Welford Park House dining room.

More drives commence after lunch followed by tea in the shoot room before departing with some oven ready local game to take home.

The day is organised in the same way as our traditional game shoot in the beautiful Lambourn Valley, which is part of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, known for its chalk downs, dry valleys and the River Lambourn.

The targets will simulate a variety of driven game from pheasants, partridge, grouse and pigeon. However, the targets can easily be tailored to suit your requirements, taking into account the experience of the team of guns. The day includes space for up to 16 guns (x2 teams of 8).

Welford Sim Days are designed to replicate the relaxed family shooting atmosphere we have during our game season. Will Puxley and his wife Nikki, whos family has lived at Welford since 1618 will host the day with Farm Manger Rob, who has lived and worked at Welford over 20 years. The rest of the team is made up by Game Keeper John - who runs the trapping team and his wife Kerry caters through out the day.

This is a true replication of a traditional family days shooting.

Yes, none shooting guests are all welcome although there will be extra charges for catering.

Welford is situated 10mins between Junction 13 and 14 of the M4. It is just over an 1 hours drive from West London and 45mins from Heathrow Airport. Welford Park is 10mins drive from Newbury train station with direct trains from London Paddington as well as the rest of the UK. Welford as private charter and Helicopter landing facilities.
