We are celebrating over 20 years of simulated game shooting and have seen the demand for simulated game rise over the years. Originally designed for corporate entertainment our sim days are now enjoyed by all walks of life and are available to any shooting enthusiast. Simulated game shooting is tremendous fun for people of all ages. If you’re a keen game shooter wanting to keep your eye in out of season or whether you just prefer to shoot clays we will give you a shoot day that you will never forget. Situated in the beautiful Cambridgeshire countryside, and no more than 50-miles from the centre of London, our simulated game days provide a truly unique experience. We endeavor to replicate the excitement of real game shooting; Grouse, High Pheasant, English Partridge, High Partridge, Rabbits, Teal and more. We pride ourselves on giving our clients the best experience possible from start to finish. You will meet in our shoot lodge for a bacon roll and safety brief before moving off to shoot the first of five different drives of clays simulating the flight of game. We take a break after the third drive for elevenses. After the fifth drive its back to the lodge for a beer on the terrace (the views of Wadlow Farm are glorious!) before sitting down to a delicious lunch (Vegetarian & GF options are available)
Hospitality
Bacon rolls and tea or coffee on arrival in the morning Elevenses and beer or soft drink Delicious hot lunch cooked to your liking Afternoon shoots start with sandwiches and soft drinks and finish with supper All meals are homecooked and served in the lodge. (Vegetarian or Gluten Free options can be arranged in advance)
Clays
Experience Simulated Game Shooting at Wadlow Farm, home of the Six Mile Bottom Shoot. Our drives are designed to replicate the flight of game with clay pigeons.
Clay Trailer: Richard’s custom mobile unit uses 8 traps on scissor lifts to launch 700+ clays per drive. We adjust for sun and wind to mirror a real game day. Driven Grouse: Shoot from authentic butts with 3 trailers supplying fast, challenging targets. Wadlow Warren: 12 rabbit traps are hidden behind earthen banks with tunnels for rapid "bolting" targets. English Partridge: Clays bursting over a high hedge toward guns pegged in a natural hollow.
Whether a seasoned gun or a novice, these days provide the perfect get together or pre-season warm-up in the Cambridgeshire countryside.
Topography
Set in the glorious Cambridgeshire countryside, close to the Essex and Suffolk borders we are blessed with being one of the highest points in the county and the views are breathtaking.
All are drives are located on Wadow Farm and we use wooded areas and hedges originally designed for Partridge shooting, which gives everyone a realist feel of being on a 'live' game day.
Gun hire & insurance
We can provide gun hire and tutors for novice guns by prior arrangement. Our public liability insurance with NFU covers all shooting clients attending a shoot with us, and regular shots also have their own insurance policies. Our disclaimer states the following:- Liability Note: While Six Mile Bottom Shoot holds public liability cover with NFU Mutual, guests are advised that participation is at their own risk. Non-shooters may wish to take out individual personal accident cover via the CPSA or Country Cover Club for added protection.

About the hosts
Your Hosts are Richard & Jackie Clarke
Six Mile Bottom Shoot Simulated Game was founded in 2003 by Richard, who balanced the shoot’s launch with his ongoing career as a professional gamekeeper. He was later joined by Jackie, whose extensive background in hospitality ensures every guest receives a first-class experience. Together with their dedicated team, they provide an authentic, safe, and exhilarating simulated game day at Wadlow Farm. The team takes immense pride in replicating the excitement of a live shoot through technical precision and warm, professional service. Whether you are a regular or visiting for the first time, Richard, Jackie, and their support staff work tirelessly to ensure you are looked after from start to finish with top-quality shooting and hospitality.
Non-shooting guests
Non-Shooting Guests While we welcome a limited number of non-shooting guests to share the experience, logistics prevent us from accommodating one for every gun. Cost: £30–£50 per person, varying by the day's hospitality level. Full Hospitality: Guests are included in all food and drink, from the breakfast rolls to the formal sitting lunch. Safety First: We provide all guests with the necessary hearing and eye protection for use on the shooting line. Availability: Space is strictly limited. Please contact Jackie in advance to discuss bringing a guest.

Final thoughts
We start and finish all our simulated days in our shoot lodge. We have a boot wash room and gun cleaning facilities on site. As we shoot over agricultural land we respectfully ask all guests to bring a change of shoes for the lodge after the shoot. There is no dress code but suggest shooting gear and outdoor country casual.
