Simulated game

This stunning Estate is located in the High Weald AONB just south of Royal Tunbridge Wells and is therefore easily accessible from central London by both car (1hr 15min) and train (55 min from Charing Cross). Over the last few summers, Barelands has developed some enjoyable and varied simulated drives across varied topography which provide guests with the most realistic of simulated targets. The days most commonly cater to teams of ten guests and with prior warning, the drives can be tailored to meet the individual requirements of each group. It is therefore possible to visit and shoot on the Estate with both experienced and novice teams.

On arrival at Barelands, guests are greeted in the impressive and renowned shoot room which not only boasts a private distillation plant but also the famous "Land Rover Bar" which rapidly becomes a firm favourite with all. Once in the shoot room, guests are greeted with tea & coffee accompanied by a plethora of stunning breakfast snacks, examples of which can be seen in the suggested menu below.

Once all guests have arrived and had sufficient time to enjoy breakfast, a brief yet detailed safety briefing and overview of the day is given, before moving off for the first drive. During the day, guests can expect four diverse drives showing a range of clay pigeons including simulated pheasant, partridge, woocock and duck. Each drive makes use of the unique topography and picturesque surroundings. Between drives, guests can enjoy a walk providing plenty of time to enjoy the natural surroundings and each other's company while all equipment is transported to the next drive and positioned on your peg.

While the shooting is of course the focus of the day, huge emphasis is placed on the catering with two "elevenses" being enjoyed. These consist of freshly prepared snacks with fine drinks from the Estate’s own brewery & distillery between each drive. In addition to this, the day culminates with an extensive feast over fire and coals, showcasing the impressive skills of the catering teams which are well complemented by the heritage breeds and organic produce reared on the Barelands Estate.

Once the shooting is complete, teams find themselves back at the shoot room enjoying a refreshing drink while reminiscing over the day's entertainment.

Hospitality

The hospitality offered on the Estate is second to none. The award-winning chefs prepare locally sourced produce in the field throughout the day. Guests have the chance to enjoy stunning food cooked on an open fire during both elevenses and lunch. Further to this, the unique Land Rover bar in the shoot room offers the ideal location to enjoy a few drinks following what promises to be an exceptional day of sport.

About the hosts

Nick Potts is an experienced shot and keeper, and has transformed the estate into a challenging, yet fun environment for shooting. Complimented with a great team behind the scenes, some knowledgeable guides in the line (if required) and an excellent catering team, guests will feel well cared for.
