After a period of change, with the sad passing of the founder John Newton-Brown, we are now taking bookings for the 2024 season. The shoot is now under new management, looking to carry on the fantastic work done by John and his team.
Considered to be one of the finest shooting estates in the country Firle Place is the perfect destination for Simulated Game and Clay Pigeon Shooting in the South.
Firle is a beautiful country village nestled in the heart of the Sussex Downs and just 60 miles from London and 10 miles from Brighton. Firle Place is the home of the Gage family and has been for over 500 years. Set at the foot of the Sussex Downs within its own parkland the Estate covers approx. 7500 acres of this stunning part of the South East and includes high ridges and slopes as well as woodland and farmland.
We tailor days for individuals as well as groups of 8 to 16 people, whether you are an experienced gun or relatively new to the sport.
Using only state-of-the-art Bowman game trailers, as well as individually-placed traps and a wide variety of ‘birds’, Firle offers one of the most realistic simulated shoots in the country.
We have recently introduced 'Open' Beacon Days.
These new simulated game shooting days are for single guns and two’s or threes who will be able to share the drives with other individuals and smaller groups to make up a full squad. This will happen in exactly the same format as our very popular Beacon four-drive day and includes your breakfast and lunch.
This will make having a great day’s shooting on the Firle Estate even more accessible to even more people.
Please do not hesitate to contact us should you be interested in shooting with us on any of these 'open' dates.
With the simulated game days each team of 6 - 16 guns will be presented thousands of varying "birds" over different drives so we advise at least 350 fibre wad cartridges per person.
We can also offer :-
PRE-SEASON WARM UPS

Non-shooting guests are more than welcome – a nominal amount will be charged to cover meals.

Hospitality
You will have a bacon or sausage roll at the local pub upon arrival. Between drives 2 and 3 we will provide a fantastic elevenses to be enjoyed in the sunning scenery of the sussex downs. Following the 4th and final drive, we will advance to the pub once more for a delicious, traditional, pub lunch of your choice . We will end the day with coffee and cheese etc before you head home
Topography
Set in 7,500 acres of the glorious South Downs. The undulating ground provides for High pheasant, fast partridge and testing grouse drives that will challenge even the most ardent of sporting guns.

I highly recommend Firle Estate! A professional and well organised SIM day, beautiful location and a super friendly group of guns. My loader was 10/10. Thank you Will for organising a fabulous day!

First time visiting Firle for what was an excellent day in Sussex. Excellent simulated drives in fantastic undulating downland terrain...the clays were fast and furious with something for every skill level. Will and Simon made us very welcome and set a relaxed but sportingly competitive atmosphere on the day. Great hospitality at The Ram for breakfast and lunch, homemade elevenses, taken in the field were spot on and enjoyed by everyone.

Thoroughly recommended. John is an excellent host. Spectacular scenery across the South Downs, bags of clays and a very good lunch. Many thanks for a fun day.

We wanted some practice before our annual trip to Scotland and John gave us a great day out with a good range of targets. All guns had a brilliant day and the food was good as well. I would thoroughly recommend a days simulated game shooting at the Firle Estate.
