Based in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park the Yorkshire Clay Company was rebranded in 2023 after Edd & Poppy Morrison purchased the renowned Kingfisher Simulated Game business that had been running for a number of years previously at Bolton Estate.
Yorkshire Clay Company provides its clients the very best in Simulated Game shooting in North Yorkshire, offering the opportunity to shoot a vast array of different drives over both Swinithwaite & Bolton Estates - or we can come to you with our own traps and set a day up on any ground you like...
We shoot on named drives that have been tailor made for driven game shooting over the past 30+ years. The rugged landscape and cliff edges allow the team at Yorkshire Clay Company to produce what we think are some of the most sporting and highest clays available - if you don’t believe us, come and try it out!
We offer a range of different days to suit each client’s specific needs, from simulated driven grouse days to traditional simulated game days using named partridge/pheasant drives with some of the highest clays to test even the very best of shots!
We offer packages with full hospitality and also packages with "no frills" beers and pies on the go if your more interested in the shooting and not the lunch!
Hospitality
Your day will be organised in the same way as our traditional game days, with first class hospitality and fantastic sport being at the forefront of what we do…
Guests will have BBQ elevenses and drinks in the field throughout the day. A delicious lunch will be prepared by one of our chefs at the end of the day and will be enjoyed at one of our fantastic lunch venues - with a view!
Clays
We have a good mix of simulated drives from easy driven to high driven and a good fun simulated grouse drive which can get very exciting
Topography
Yorkshire Clay Company provides many types of drives that we can do in a day at both Swinithwaite and Bolton estates. We like to use the topography we think is best for providing decent targets to suit all teams. Our high pheasant drives off the cliffs are without doubt some of the best and our simulated grouse drives are as close as you can get to the real thing!
At Bolton Quarry we can provide a full day of double gun simulated grouse shooting from hurdles and sunk butts which is an excellent way to practice before heading onto the moors for a day on the fastest game bird alive!

Cartridges and addons
We do not provide cartridges in the basic price but we can do a bespoke package with them included. Also we always have some slabs available to buy should anyone run out!
About the hosts
Our hosts are fun, friendly and very experienced at what they do. They will try their upmost to create a warm and relaxed atmosphere ensuring everything runs smoothly and at your own pace for the day.
It's your day and we do our best to run it as you want it!
