Dovey Valley Shooting Ground (DVSG) were one of the very first in the UK to start Simulating Game days many many years ago by the Iconic Hugh Jones.
Now that DVSG is back in the family Estate, we are privileged to have Exclusive rights to Brynmelin Estate for our simulated days, located right between the BRIGANDS shoot of Bettws Hall and Dyfi Falls of Cambrian Birds in Mid Wales we cover the best part of 1000 acres of rugged hilly and wooded mountains showing some low Partridge and Grouse drives up to towering 150+ Yard high birds, Making standard clays look like pinholes in the sky.
What to expect on our Gold Simulated Game day at Dovey Valley?
Each team will be presented with a a range of varied clay targets over 5 drives replicating some of the best Game birds in the northern Hemisphere. Morning Hot drinks and Bacon Rolls will be served in the Lodge. Traditional Elevenses and Field Lunch will be served up on our view points so you can take in the breathtaking view from above whilst sipping champagne! We shoot up to 8 pegs per day, 2 guns per peg which allows you to load for each other and spot any escaping targets. We draw pegs in the morning, moving up 2. We welcome all non-shooters to our days but please ask upon booking as there is a cost for hospitality. For a typical itinerary and Bespoke days please contact us!
Head, ear & eye protection is compulsory along with a shooting glove or sleeve.
Hospitality
Full Hospitality is included throughout the day. Starting with Tea,Coffee,Bacon Rolls and a tipple before stopping for a refreshing fizzy Elevenses mid morning. After all the hard work shooting we will stop for a relaxed "home cooked" buffet Lunch back at the lodge then after the next two drives we head back to the lodge typically afternoon tea will be served. please ask if you have any special requirements.
Topography
Brynmelin Estate is nestled in the steep and some wooded valleys of the Dovey Valley in Mid Wales, this enabling us to achieve natural high birds for that challenging shot, 'certainly a talking point over the meal back at the lodge!'

Excellent day from start to finish. Plenty of clays simulating a variety if quarry. Perhaps too much even! Advisable to changeover every 50 cartridges perhaps otherwise can get tired! Service and food brilliant as well.

Having visited a number of great simulated shoots around the UK, Dovey Valley was the best. Fantastic landscapes and a true simulation of driven game shooting from the highest clays we've seen to fast and furious grouse. We shot in excess of 500 cartridges each. Excellent catering and highly recommend visiting.
